Biography: My name is Tiffany Suggs. I teach 3rd grade at Mary Ford, and I have been there for 8 years. I am getting my Master's +30 in technology. After this class I will have 20 hours and be two thirds of the way there. I can't wait to be finished! My husband and I just bought a house in Park West, so I am so happy this class is offered at Pinckney. I hope for more here:)
Classroom Connections:
I have learned a lot about digital story telling in this course. I feel that at my specific school, with the lack of computers, it would be hard for the students to create their own movie, but I think it is a great way to introduce topics to get the students interested. It’s also a great review for the end of lessons. I created a SC regions movie for my third graders that I am going to use as a PASS review. I do have 4 computers in my classroom, so I may try to group my students and each group be assigned a certain topic on a subject to create a story board while I assist in their movie making. I do think they would really enjoy making the movie and benefit from the research aspect of creating this, so I just might have to give it a whirl despite the lack of time and computers in my classroom.
